"Can I get your #?", featured in the “You Are Here” exhibit at downtown LA’s Think Tank Gallery
-This was my favorite photo from the whole shoot. As I was leaning on the bus post two guys approached to ask why I was taking taking pictures. The three of us turned out to be from the same neighborhood, although as with most people they didn’t believe I was. I told them of the gallery opening and of how I was taking time off to recover from some health issues, turns out that one of them was doing same as he was had recently undergone a big surgery to remove a malignant tumor in his gums. As I was getting ready to ask to get a photo of them the conversation ended abruptly, all three of us paused as this young lady walked passed because well…she looked good! In a split second the two compadres discussed the task at hand, it was decided that only one them should approach. She was midway up the block so he jogged in pursuit, and I decided to be a witness and ran also. The photo was shot at the moment of appraisal and rejection, you can see it each of them with a gigantic smile from the friend that stayed behind all the way down the block.
